Research Opportunity for Older Adults and Care Partners: Experiences Returning Home After a Hospitalization for Fall-Related Injury
June 03, 2026
Participants needed for a research study exploring recovery after a fall-related injury for older adults and those who support them. We want to learn what makes going home and getting better after a fall easier or harder.
Who can join?
- Adults age 55 and older who have had a fall-related injury in the last 12 months and returned home after a hospital stay
- Or family members/friends who cared for them
Requirements
- Take part in a one-time, one-on-one interview (about 60-90 minutes)
- Interviews will take place by Zoom or phone, whichever is most convenient
Research participants will receive a $50 gift card after completing the interview.
If you know an older adult who may be interested in participating, they may contact Gretchen Tucker, PhD, MA, at ggtucker@som.umaryland.edu.
This study, “Recovery After a Fall: Experiences of Older Adults and Their Care Partners,” is a research project funded by the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science, University of Maryland School of Medicine.
