The Center for Advanced Research Training & Innovation (CARTI) is seeking applications for the 2027 Clinical/Translational Research Training Track. This program provides training to University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty and others across the University of Maryland, Baltimore and senior postdoctoral fellows (who are within six to 12 months of a faculty role), who are seeking foundational training in developing and executing a mentored clinical/translational and/or public health research project, including effectively communicating research to get published and funded. CARTI scholars are expected to submit a grant application within six months of participation in the training track. Applications are due Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, by 5 p.m. EST.
This four-month training program will include didactic instruction on topics related to project design and implementation and scientific communication (with a focus on grant writing), as well as experiential learning. Upon completion of the didactic and experiential learning, scholars will have a complete research proposal that will undergo review by a mock study section. CARTI scholars are required to complete each element of the training schedule, including completion of an individual development plan (IDP) and submission of a grant application within six months of participation.
