For nearly five decades, the Medical Student Research Day tradition at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) has celebrated the research, innovation, and achievements of our medical students. Sponsored by the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and UMSOM’s Office of Student Research, this annual event provides students with the opportunity to share their research findings with faculty, peers, and the broader UMSOM and UMB communities. Student presentations are evaluated by faculty judges, and competitive awards are presented in recognition of outstanding research and presentation excellence.
The research day highlights the remarkable variety of student scholarship across various disciplines at UMB. The event serves not only as a showcase of academic excellence, but also as a celebration of the next generation of physician-scientists, educators, and health care leaders.
