The School of Graduate Studies Research Colloquium provides faculty with an ongoing platform to share their research endeavors with the School of Graduate Studies and UMB communities. With the goal of fostering a supportive environment and advancing interprofessional collaboration, each virtual monthly session will include a faculty presentation followed by an opportunity for questions and feedback.

Learn more about the School of Graduate Studies’ Dean’s Award for Research, Innovation, and Scholarship Excellence (RISE), which provides small seed grants to full‑time faculty to promote scholarship and other creative activities. For this grant opportunity, research and scholarship are defined broadly to include the scholarship of discovery, integration, community‑engaged research, and teaching and learning.

Career Development for Community Health Workers (Recipient of the 2024-2025 Dean’s RISE Award)
Are community health workers (CHW) able to advance in health care and public health careers and contribute to reducing health manpower shortage in the United States? We interviewed 30 CHWs from Baltimore and used a mixed-method analyses to elucidate the factors and ways in which career progression is occurring for CHWs.
