Michael Ehlers

Join us for two exciting seminars from Michael D. Ehlers, MD, PhD, an internationally recognized neuroscientist, biotechnology executive, and biotech company founder. He currently serves as an entrepreneur partner at MPM BioImpact, where he directs the fund’s science-driven investment strategy by identifying and evaluating new breakthrough science around the world. Ehlers is CEO and co-founder of Ascidian Therapeutics, a clinical-stage RNA editing company developing exon-editing technologies for hereditary diseases, and CEO of a stealth-stage company pursuing next-generation RNA therapeutics.

Ehlers’ previous experience includes co-founding multiple biotechnology companies, holding major research and development roles, and advancing clinical programs for therapeutic drug development. Earlier in his career, Ehlers was George Barth Geller Professor and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator at Duke University, pioneering influential work on neuronal organelles and neurotransmitter receptor trafficking. He has authored over 100 scientific papers, received major awards including the Eppendorf & Science Prize in Neurobiology and the Thudichum Medal, and serves on multiple academic, foundation, and biotech advisory boards.
