The Office of Access, Strategic Initiatives, and Support (OASIS) has received an Access & Engagement Innovation Grant to create a first-of-its-kind sensory room at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. This space called UMB SenseSpace will provide a calming, inclusive environment designed to support emotional regulation, focus, and overall well-being through features like adjustable lighting, tactile tools, sound therapy, and flexible seating.

Open to all students, staff, and faculty, the project aims to meet a wide range of sensory needs. We are inviting the UMB community to provide input through a brief, anonymous survey.

Your voice matters! Please take a few minutes to complete our survey. It includes an optional question about disability status to help us better understand and support diverse accessibility and sensory needs. By sharing your experiences, you’ll help ensure the design and resources in the SenseSpace reflect and respond to the full spectrum of our community’s needs and preferences.

This project is led by OASIS in partnership with the Student Counseling Center and the Office of Educational Support & Disability Services.

Students, faculty, and staff, let your voice be heard!
