Stories Sought for SHARP Practitioner Book

Invitation to Contribute: Share a Moment That Shifted Your Practice
This book is a collection of moments - real experiences where something shifted in how we see, understand, or respond within our work.
We are continuing to gather short reflections from practitioners, students, and leaders who are engaging with critically conscious practice and the SHARP framework.
We are not looking for polished success stories.
We are especially interested in moments that felt uncertain, unfinished, or difficult.
You might consider sharing:
-
A time when something no longer sat right, but you didn’t yet have language for why
-
A moment when your understanding shifted - and it brought discomfort, grief, or anger
-
An experience where you tried to act differently, but the outcome was unclear or complicated
-
A situation where you became more aware of your role, your power, or the limits of your position
-
A time when working with others (a community member, team, supervisor, or organization) deepened or challenged your understanding
-
A reflection on how this way of seeing has stayed with you over time
Your submission does not need to resolve neatly.
In fact, many of the most meaningful contributions do not.
We welcome brief reflections (approximately 300–800 words) written in your own voice. These can be grounded in a single moment, a short experience, or a reflection on your practice over time.
You may choose to include your name, role, and organization, or to remain anonymous.
These stories will be organized thematically within the book to reflect different stages of the work - from initial moments of noticing, to shifts in understanding, to acting within complex systems, and beyond.
If you have ever had a moment where something changed in how you see your work, we invite you to share it.
Because often, it is in these moments - especially the unfinished ones - that something important begins.
