Student Climate Survey Is Open
February 25, 2026
The following letter was sent to UMB students:
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful campus environment aligned with our core values set of Respect and Integrity.
UMB is conducting an anonymous climate survey of students’ individual experiences with sexual misconduct, including victimization, perpetration, bystander behavior, knowledge of resources, and perceptions of the campus climate. The results of the survey will inform our activities to encourage and support a safe environment.
UMB respects the potential impact and appreciates the time that participating in these efforts requires. Students who complete the survey may enter a drawing for a pair of Beats Studio Pro wireless Bluetooth noise-canceling headphones. To enter, follow the instructions in the survey. The drawing information is entered through a separate system and is not attributable to the survey responses submitted.
The biennial climate survey on sexual misconduct establishes important benchmarks for UMB, demonstrating areas where we have improved our culture and our response to sexual misconduct and where we still need to make progress. All students are encouraged to complete the survey.
Please note that the survey includes questions that may be triggering or traumatizing. It also asks about your personal experience with sexual misconduct. Access the survey here. The survey will be available through May 1, 2026.
Some of the language used in this survey is explicit and may make you feel uncomfortable. If you choose to participate, please know that you can skip any question you are not comfortable answering and that you can exit the survey at any time. Resources and information on supportive services can be found on UMB’s Title IX website.
If you have questions, please contact the Office of Accountability and Compliance through the Title IX program at titleix@umaryland.edu.
