We are pleased to share that construction of the new University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) building has reached a major milestone. This month, we will celebrate a Topping Off Ceremony with Whiting-Turner and the UMB Building Project Management Team, marking the placement of the final beam on the exterior of the building. To commemorate this moment, the beam will be displayed in the UMSSW lobby for faculty, staff, students, and alumni to sign before it is lifted into place.
This is a special opportunity to leave your mark on the structure of our new home. The beam will be available for signatures in the lobby until Feb. 20. During this time, we also invite you to contribute a brief letter offering encouragement, reflections on this milestone, or hopes for future generations who will study and work in the building. Please submit your letter to eugena.ferguson@ssw.umaryland.edu no later than Feb. 20.
