The University of Maryland Association of Nursing Students (UMANS) is the National Student Nurse Association (NSNA) chapter at the Universities of Shady Grove.
Nine graduating students were inducted into the NSNA Leadership U Honors Society this semester. These students were recognized for their achievement in demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing the mission and vision of NSNA. They proudly wore their NSNA cord at graduation.

Additionally, UMANS was recognized at the Universities at Shady Grove Student Leadership and Service Awards on May 8 with the Innovation Award, recognizing the organization's effort to host transformative events to enhance student life, academic success, and community engagement. UMANS' faculty advisor, Marisa Astiz-Martinez, MS '13, RN, CNE, RYT-200, clinical instructor, won the Faculty Advisor of the Year award.
