The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Community and Civic Engagement (OCCE) is pleased to announce that the Community Engagement Center at 16 S. Poppleton St. will serve as an Early Voting Center for the 2026 Maryland General Election, providing a convenient location for registered Baltimore City voters to cast their ballots.

Early voting will take place Oct. 22 through Oct. 29, 2026, with polls open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be permitted to vote.

The Community Engagement Center's role as an early voting site reflects UMB's ongoing commitment to civic participation and community engagement. By hosting a neighborhood voting location, the center helps ensure that residents have accessible opportunities to participate in the democratic process.

In addition to early voting, eligible individuals who need to update their voter information or have not yet registered may take advantage of Maryland's same-day voter registration opportunities. Voters seeking to register or check their registration are encouraged to bring appropriate identification and review registration requirements before arriving.

The 2026 Maryland General Election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. All registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, are eligible to participate in the general election.

Community members are encouraged to make a voting plan, verify their registration status, and learn more about voting options by visiting the UMBVotes page or the Maryland State Board of Elections website. Additional resources, including election terminology and voter education materials, are available through the state's voter information portal.
