Nov. 10: UMB Diwali Celebration
November 02, 2026
The lamps are lit, the music is on, and the whole campus is invited! Join the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Indian Association as we celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Diwali is one of India’s most joyful festivals and marks the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It’s a time for family, friends, food, and fresh beginnings, and we’d love for you to celebrate it with us.
Fill your plate with delicious Indian food, then hit the dance floor when the DJ gets started. Stop by the mehendi station for beautiful henna designs, and soak up the festive atmosphere with friends old and new. Whether you’ve celebrated Diwali your whole life or this is your first time, you’ll find a warm welcome and a great night waiting for you.
When: Tuesday, Nov. 10, 6-10 p.m.
Where: Elm Ballroom, SMC Campus Center, Second Floor, 621 W. Lombard St., Baltimore, MD 21201
Please RSVP so we can plan food and seating. Come for the food, stay for the fun, and leave with a little extra light!
