UMB Reads! is excited to welcome the community to our spring virtual kickoff at noon Feb. 17 as we launch our next shared read: "The Courage Gap: 5 Steps to Braver Action" by Margie Warrell, PhD.
This engaging and accessible book explores how courage shows up in everyday moments — speaking up, stepping forward, navigating uncertainty, and taking meaningful action even when discomfort or fear is present. Together, we’ll reflect on how brave action can strengthen our workplace culture, deepen connection, and support UMB’s ongoing commitment to building community grounded in the core value set of Equity and Justice.
The virtual kickoff is designed as an interactive space to:
- Learn about the themes of the book
- Connect with colleagues across UMB
- Reflect on how courage supports inclusive, values-driven action
- Explore ways to participate in UMB Reads! throughout the spring
No reading is required to join the kickoff — just bring your curiosity and willingness to engage in conversation.
