July 28: UMB Reads! Summer 2026 Hybrid Book Discussion
July 08, 2026
UMB Reads! invites all members of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community to join our hybrid concluding discussion at noon July 28 of "The People Equation: Why Innovation Is People, Not Products" by Deborah Perry Piscione and David Crawley.
Having completed the book, we will reflect on its full message: that lasting innovation is created not by products alone, but by people working in environments where trust, creativity, learning, and shared purpose can thrive. Together, we’ll consider how these ideas can shape the future of our teams, classrooms, and campus community.
As we continue highlighting UMB’s core value set of Innovation and Discovery, this session will explore how each of us can help foster cultures where curiosity is encouraged, collaboration is strengthened, and new ideas are welcomed.
Whether you joined us earlier in the summer or are attending for the first time, all are welcome. Join us in person (Sherman Center, fourth floor of the Health Sciences and Human Services Library in the back left corner from the elevator) or virtually for a meaningful conversation as we conclude this summer’s shared read together.
