The Office of Access, Strategic Initiatives, & Support (OASIS) hosted the 2026 JEDI Awards and Breakfast Gala on March 31, recognizing outstanding members of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community and partners whose work advances justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Now in its fifth year, the JEDI Awards celebrate the individuals and groups who embody UMB’s ongoing commitment to building a more equitable and inclusive campus and society.
Congratulations to the 2026 JEDI Award Recipients:
- The Camara Jones Faculty Award — Haksoon Ahn
- The Judith Heumann Staff Award — Prism Shilling
- The Audre Lorde Student Award — Yancy Padilla
- The Whitney Young Alumni Award — Maisha Davis
- The Kimberlé Crenshaw Group Award — The Child Welfare Fellowship
- The Shirley Chisholm Community Award (for Individuals or Organizations) — The Creative Nomads
- The Amy Sherald Art as Advocacy Award — Mama Rashida Forman-Bey
- The LaShonda Godwin Unsung Hero Award — Stacey Wilson
