The University of Maryland, Baltimore Faculty Senate invites nominations for the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Faculty Awards, the highest honor given by the Board of Regents for exemplary faculty achievement. Awards are given in:
- Teaching
- Scholarship/Research
- Creative Activity
- Public Service

Mentoring
Eligibility
- Current USM faculty with at least five years of service
- Contributions described must have occurred at a USM institution

Performance period: July 1, 2023–June 30, 2026 (except Mentoring, which may exceed three years)

Prior awardees within third years are ineligible for the same category
The application process consists of two steps: an initial nomination packet (five pages) followed by a full application (20 pages). The initial nomination packet is due Sept. 25, 2026, and must be submitted via Interfolio by the nominee. The Institutional Faculty Nomination Committee (IFNC) will review packets and notify faculty members selected to move forward in the application process. Selected applicants will be asked to submit a 20-page packet (details to be available on Interfolio) by Oct. 19, 2026.
Self-nominations are welcomed.

- one-page essay describing contributions
- one- to two-page recommendation letter (from chair/dean)
- one- to two-page supporting documentation
