\Values in Action Speaker Series

What does it mean to create a workplace where every person feels seen, valued, and respected?

UMB’s Core Values Program and the School of Graduate Studies’ Office of Values and Strategic Initiatives are excited to invite you to join us for the next Values in Action Speaker Series installment featuring a candid conversation about Respect and Integrity and the everyday experiences that shape our workplace culture.

Nicole Palmore, executive director of Administration and Finance Employee and Organization Success; Denise Meyer, Environmental Services (EVS) director; Keisha Blake, EVS senior manager; and Shakira Franklin, EVS day shift grounds’ manager, will share perspectives from the people and teams whose work is essential to keeping UMB running each day, but whose contributions may not always be visible to everyone across our community.

Together, our panelists will explore what respect and integrity look like in everyday interactions from how we acknowledge one another and communicate across roles to the assumptions we make about whose work matters and whose voices are heard. Rather than focusing on what individuals or groups are doing wrong, this conversation invites all of us to consider the small, intentional actions that can help create a culture in which every member of the UMB community experiences dignity, belonging, and appreciation.

Come ready to listen, reflect, and consider: How can each of us more intentionally put Respect and Integrity into action for everyone who makes UMB work?

This hybrid program will be offered in person at the MLK4 Building (4 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and on Zoom (link provided with registration) on Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 12 p.m.– 1 p.m.

Please register for the event.
