Children's National Health System announced a $1 million gift from Bill and Joanne Conway establishing the Conway Nursing Pathway Program to encourage careers in pediatric nursing. The Pathway Program aims to reduce the financial burden of higher education, address the potential for a nursing shortage, and deepen career satisfaction.
The program funds scholarships for students who have selected nursing as their major and those in associate degree in nursing programs committed to baccalaureate education, among other initiatives.
Three UMSON BSN students have been selected to participate in the Conway Nursing Pathway Program at Children’s National Hospital and are benefiting from the scholarships. They include:
- Samantha Davidson, Baltimore, expected to graduate in December 2019
- Maya Kindane, Baltimore, expected to graduate in December 2020
- Esther Ana Rosa, Universities at Shady Grove, expected to graduate in December 2019
