Students practice the skills they've learned throughout the year while developing new talents in the process. Children’s National Hospital, Susan D. Flynn Oncology Nursing Summer Fellowship Program

This program is designed to help stimulate the career interest and foster the professional development of potential oncology nurses. The purpose of the fellowship is to provide aspiring nurses with comprehensive clinical exposure to oncology nursing and to "best practices" in compassionate care. Fellows will have opportunities to attend various pertinent internal educational programs and meetings with key hospital staff members to provide an additional learning experience. Although the fellowship typically focuses on adult oncology patient care, our goal at Children’s National Hospital is to provide aspiring pediatric oncology nurses with a meaningful internship in this very specialized field.
Modio Information Group, Medical Narrator (DNP Students only)
Modio Information Group is partnering with publishers to provide leading, peer-reviewed, medical journal articles in a word-for-word, human-narrated audio format, allowing practitioners to consume the underlying material without forgoing premium office time that could otherwise be used to see patients and conduct research. They are seeking medical students and nurse practitioner students to narrate the articles. Applicants must be articulate with excellent oral reading skills, reliable, punctual, detail-oriented and extremely conscientious. All work may be completed part-time from home, with minimal time commitment.

PRR Corp assists with the placement of international nurses in facilities that are in need of registered nurses. PRR Corp provides vetted candidates for the facility to interview. If hired (direct hire by the facility), we further handle the immigration, licensing, travel arrangements, etc. at no cost to the nurse. Seeking registered nurses with an interest in the promotion of sexual health, sexual health education, and counseling regarding STDs, HIV, Hepatitis C, and HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis, and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. Nurses will work as providers at the Sexual Health clinics as part of a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, patient navigators, social workers, point of care laboratory staff, phlebotomists, public health disease intervention specialists, and academic researchers.
Sibley Memorial Hospital – Summer Nurse Externships, Critical Care and Medical Surgical
The Nurse Extern is defined as a nursing student in an accredited nursing program. He/She has completed at least one semester of Med/Surg and is a rising senior. The extern, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assists in the implementation of nursing care to patients and their families where basic nursing skills are required. The nursing extern will be given a patient assignment appropriate to skill level. The Nursing Extern will not be responsible for administration of blood or blood products, Intravenous Therapies, medications or receiving verbal orders.
