MedStar Health – Baltimore Region Summer 2021 Student Nurse Externship
MedStar Health invites nursing students slated to graduate in December 2021 or May 2022 to join the Summer 2021 Student Nurse Externship program. This program gives senior nursing students an opportunity to work under the direction of an experienced RN in the care and well-being of patients through mentorship and hands-on-learning. The Summer Cohort will begin on June 7th and run for 6 consecutive weeks. Externs will work 36-40 hours per week, while attending one class per week (built into the schedule). Students will be invited to remain on staff in a flexible position should they be interested in continuing.

MedStar Washington Hospital – Summer 2021 Student Nurse Externship
The Student Nurse Externship (SNE) program at MedStar Washington Hospital Center offers high performing nursing students the opportunity to gain important clinical experience in a diverse, high-acuity teaching hospital. This full-time paid position gives students an opportunity to work with experienced nurses and technicians for a 10-week period. Afterwards, students may continue on a PRN-basis until they graduate.
LifeBridge Health – New Grad RN Residency
LifeBridge health is accepting applications for its new graduate RN program at all affiliated hospitals including Sinai, Northwest, Carroll, Grace Medical Center, and Levindale. New nurses are provided individual and group support as they participate in classes, present cases, learn clinical skills, and gain confidence in their clinical abilities. This program is offered in most specialties, including critical care, acute care, and med surg, etc.
DC Metro Links Scholarship for African American College Students
Deadline to Apply: April 1, 2021
DC Metro Links is now accepting applications for its 2021-2022 scholarship program. This program provides scholarship opportunities ($5000) and mentoring support to local African American college students entering their 3rd or 4th year of college. Awardees demonstrate academic achievement, possess higher education goals, and have a record of community service.
Eligibility: Rising college junior or senior enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university; must be a graduate of a District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia High School (limited to Montgomery, Prince Georges, Arlington, or Alexandria Counties); and demonstrated academic achievement and community engagement.

The RN will develop and supervise plan of care services for clients, including: completing comprehensive assessment of patient needs; providing initial direction to caregivers and assigned CNA or CMT; making supervisory visits in the care receiver’s home and evaluating the assigned staff’s performance of nursing services; and completing all required clinical documentation.
