The Center for Information Technology Services (CITS) is replacing its existing voicemail system with Cisco Unity Connections (Unity). The objective of this project is to introduce a robust voicemail system to UMB that gives users autonomy over voicemail controls including online services. Below are the top five benefits of Cisco Unity:

  1. All users will receive Unified Messaging (voicemails will get forwarded to email).
  2. Copies of your voicemails will remain in MS Outlook (email) and will function as it does today.
  3. Self Service Portal (https://umaryland.edu/myphone) is now available.
  4. Retention schedule: After 30 days, voicemails will be deleted but emails will remain in your inbox.
  5. Caller ID: In MS Outlook (email), the caller’s name and telephone number are provided for all calls.

Voicemail users supported by CITS will receive an email one week prior to being changed to the new voicemail system. Please visit our website for additional information.
