COVID-19 update

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) COVID-19 Hotline has a new tool to help provide immediate guidance on COVID-19 positive tests, symptoms, and high-risk exposures to others infected with the virus. Information about this tool was sent in a Jan. 11, 2022, letter to the UMB community from Marianne Cloeren, MD, MPH, associate professor, University of Maryland School of Medicine, and UMB Public Health Officer.

The COVID-19 Report Form is a way for any UMB student, faculty or staff member, or Faculty Physicians, Inc. (FPI) employee to self-submit this information in lieu of calling the hotline.

The form provides an email response to the person submitting their information with customized guidance based on what was entered. The form is accessible from the UMB COVID-19 Hotline page.

In some cases, the guidance will include a recommendation to call the hotline for expert advice on situations needing a clinical perspective. If you do not receive needed guidance, or if you need clarification or other assistance, contact your health unit:
These health units are monitoring submissions and may contact you for additional information or to provide further guidance.

We hope these tools can provide immediate relief and answers to everyone in the UMB community as well as reserve the hotline for individuals coming to campus and those with clinical situations needing additional guidance.

If you have been on campus (which includes Pascault Row or Fayette Square) over the last three days or expect to be on campus within the next 10 days and have a COVID-19 positive test, experience symptoms, and need guidance beyond what you received from the new online system, please call the COVID-19 Hotline at 800-701-9863.
Students, faculty, and staff, let your voice be heard!
