The Betty Irene Moore Nurse Fellows in Leadership and Innovation Program will provide $450,000 over three years in funding for an innovative project plus $50,000 to the applicant’s organization. In addition, fellows will participate in a leadership and innovation development program hosted at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis involving one week/year on site and online participation throughout the program.

We are seeking diverse nursing scientists with aspirations for leadership across settings and roles. Specific applicant eligibility criteria include:

  • Nursing scientist (i.e., R.N. with a PhD or a PhD from a nursing science program)
  • PhD conferred between 2010 and 2015
  • Firm commitment of at least 30% effort for the fellowship effective July 1, 2020
  • Available to attend the week-long annual convocation for the week of July 26
  • Available to participate in the online mentorship and learning community
  • Demonstrate evidence of post-PhD and current scholarship
  • Demonstrate evidence of promise as a leader and innovator
  • Submit an innovative and feasible proposal that generates new knowledge to address an important question, meets a vital need, alters care delivery, or designs a new solution
  • Secure institutional and mentor support
