The co-sponsors of the 2021 Teaching with Technology Conference invite you to submit a proposal to present at the conference. 

Theme: Stories from the Front Lines — Teaching with Technology During COVID

The conference theme is "Stories from the Front Lines" and will focus on how we overcame instructional disruption to emerge as more versatile and creative educators. Share your challenges, triumphs, lessons learned, and new approaches for supporting quality teaching and learning. We encourage all proposals that explore novel instructional approaches, active learning pedagogy, student engagement practices, mentoring virtually, assessment practices, communication technology, learning communities, and faculty-staff partnerships across all disciplines and subject areas during the pandemic.

Scholars should address this theme in the proposal abstract via one of three types of conference presentation formats:

1. Presentation (15 minutes + discussion): These presentations emphasize sharing information, such as best practices and research results. When proposing such a session, make sure to describe how you will engage the audience. Presentations should be structured using the IMRaD format with Practice Points (Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Practice Points summarizing key takeaways).

2. Pecha Kucha 20x20 (7 minutes + discussion): Pecha Kucha is a simple presentation format whereby presenters show 20 slides each for 20 seconds. Using VoiceThread, the slides advance automatically and presenters narrate the slides. Presentations will be limited to seven minutes without exception.

3. Technology Demonstration (15 minutes + discussion): These show how to use or apply technology for effective instruction. The abstract should describe how the presenter will provide a clear description of the tool, how it compares to similar tools, highlight its strengths and weaknesses, and discuss how it can best be applied for learning.
