headshots of winner and runner-ups

On May 11, 131 DNP students celebrated their collaborative efforts with their practice partners and their project faculty advisors as they disseminated their DNP project outcomes through a virtual poster session. Live poster presentations took place in multiple Blackboard Collaborate rooms in front of faculty and other invited attendees.

"You changed structures, processes and outcomes," said Shannon Idzik, DNP '10, MS, '03, CRNP, FAANP, FAAN, associate professor and associate dean for the DNP program, during the awards ceremony that concluded the presentations. "You increased use of manometers in the OR, improved sleep in the ICU, screened social determinants of health in primary care Medicare Patients, you improved quality of life in elderly through meal time, improved breastfeeding in the NICU, increased screening for child maltreatment, individualized care plans and saved tens of thousands of dollars by reducing unnecessary ABG’s … to name a few.”
