Baltimore Business Journal Leaders in Health Care 2021

The Baltimore Business Journal will honor individuals who are committed to health care improving care, educating the public, or working on cutting-edge health care technology during its Leaders in Health Care Awards 2021 virtual event Dec. 9 at 10 a.m.

In addition to the award presentations, the event will include fireside chats with three local health care professionals, including Kathleen Neuzil, MD, MPH, FIDSA, the Myron M. Levine, MD, DTPH Professor in Vaccinology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) and director of UMSOM’s Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health.

The other two health care professionals are Redonda Miller, MD, MBA, president, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Charlotte Wood, PhD, MBA, MSN, RN, professor, Coppin State University College of Health Professions, and president, Maryland Nurses Association.

Speaking with Baltimore Business Journal reporters, the three will discuss what 2021 has been like for them and their thoughts about the future of health care.

The Baltimore Business Journal’s Leaders in Health Care Awards were inaugurated in 2020, and three leaders from UMB were honored last year: Jane M. Kirschling, PhD, RN, FAAN, Bill and Joanne Conway Dean of the School of Nursing; Natalie D. Eddington, PhD, FCP, FAAPS, dean of the School of Pharmacy (UMSOP); and Leah Sera, PharmD, MA, BCPS, associate professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, and director, MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics Program,  UMSOP.
