UMB Student Community Discussions are hourlong sessions sponsored by UMB Student Affairs and the University Student Government Association (USGA). In these sessions, moderated by Nivedita Hegdekar, USGA president, UMB students can meet with Student Affairs professionals and other experts about topics that impact the student experience at UMB. Topics and speakers are selected by the USGA in response to student feedback. Students are invited to listen, ask questions, and provide feedback for how the University can better support student success.

  • Darissa Monroe, EdD, director of Financial Assistance and Employment in the office of University Student Financial Assistance & Enrollment Services
  • Emilia Petrillo, LCSW-C, executive director of the Student Counseling Center & Educational Support and Disability Services
  • Patricia Scott, assistant vice president of Enrollment Administration in the office of University Student Financial Assistance & Enrollment Services, and the University registrar.
