Choosing the Right Journal for Your Research

This workshop will introduce you to tools you can use to identify the journal that best matches your work. We will discuss strategies for choosing a journal and the important features you should consider to make a strategic choice. Feel free to come with a current manuscript or just to learn about approaches for the future.

Open Access Publishing: The Good and the Predatory
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1 p.m.

This workshop will teach you about open access publishing models, how to identify reputable open access journals, and what red flags to look for in predatory publications. You will learn why open access helps disseminate research more widely and how to leverage this new publishing venue to increase your research impact.

Strategic Publishing: Making the Most of Your Research
Thursday, Feb. 6, 1 p.m.

This workshop will help you increase the impact of your research output by discussing how to disseminate it more broadly. We will cover preprint and other repositories, author IDs such as ORCID, and ways of measuring research impact.
