Free Virtual Webinar Celebrating Juneteenth:
“Pipeline: An Essential Conversation”
Each year, 150,000 Black and Brown children — disproportionally those with disabilities — are handcuffed, restrained, referred to law enforcement, and arrested in our nation’s schools. This 90-minute virtual event will feature community partners reflecting on how Baltimore is affected by these acts of inequality and racism for our children and what is being done to change that reality.
As this unpredicted season begins against the backdrop of COVID-19, racial unrest, and action for justice and healing — nothing has been normal. This final in a series of Winter/Spring 2021 “From the Heights” virtual conversations — hosted by the School of Social Work’s (SSW) Promise Heights — will examine the challenges of the moment, offering actionable insights that you can use today.
In partnership with Everyman Theatre, we welcome everyone to attend a free virtual webinar conversation on Juneteenth. Participants are encouraged to also view Everyman Theatre’s current production of Dominique Morisseau’s renowned play, “Pipeline.” (See below how to register for tickets.)
