Virtual Event

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, racial unrest, and action for justice and healing — nothing is normal. The “From the Heights” virtual series from Promise Heights will look at the challenges of the moment, offering actionable insights that you can use today.

The second free webinar is scheduled for Monday, March 15, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. We hope you’ll join Lawrence T. Brown, PhD, MA, and the School of Social Work’s Nadine M. Finigan-Carr, PhD, MS, in discussion of Brown's 2020 book, “The Black Butterfly: The Harmful Politics of Race and Space in America.”

Dr. Brown offers a clear five-step plan to achieve racial equality. Putting Baltimore under a microscope, he examines the causes of segregation, many of which exist in current legislation and regulatory policies, despite the common belief that overtly racist policies are of the past.
