In an ongoing effort to shine light on talented and dedicated University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) employees, the UMBrella Group is creating awards to recognize the contributions made by individuals in the following categories:
UMBrella Person of the Year — On the Rise
A member of the UMB community who has achieved growth in their career or overcome personal/professional challenges with the utilization of mentorship, coaching, and/or professional development opportunities sponsored by UMBrella. Nominees for this award can be at any stage of their career.
UMBrella Person of the Year — Leading the WayA member of the UMB community who has demonstrated leadership as a role model, coach, and/or mentor to assist others in reaching their personal/professional goals in alignment with the mission and programs offered by UMBrella. Nominees for this award should be mid-career to senior career professionals.
UMBrella Champion of the YearA member of the UMB community who serves as a role model in their commitment to championing the role of women in academia and/or administration. Nominees for this award should be senior career professionals who have a broad scope of influence to support the mission and programs of UMBrella.

- The deadline to submit nominations is Feb. 5, 2021.
- Candidates can be nominated or individuals can nominate themselves.
- A nominee must be a UMB employee in good standing
