New graduate elective: NRSG 774 Motivational Interviewing for Addictions Nursing
December 09, 2020
Motivational interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based communication approach that promotes client wellbeing. Students learn to engage clients' inherent motivation for positive behavioral change. Nurses across settings can benefit from incorporating MI into their practice.
This course can satisfy a 3-credit elective requirement for their degree program. It is also one of four required courses for UMSON's new Certificate in Substance Use and Addictions Nursing, launching in fall 2021. Stay tuned for more information about the new certificate program.
