The Betty Irene Moore Fellowships for Nurse Leaders and Innovators is a three-year program aimed at developing the next generation of nurse leaders and innovators. It is for early- to mid-career nursing scholars (PhD conferred between 2011-16) and provides support for an innovative project and leadership development to prepare nurse scholars to be full partners in improving health care delivery and advancing health.

Only one nomination may be submitted. If you are interested in being considered, carefully review the fellowship requirements, and the application criteria and process. Then, provide the following information by Monday, Oct. 12:

  1. a brief one to two paragraph description of your intended project as well as an explanation of how it is innovative and will generate new knowledge
  2. the name, title, and expertise of the individual you would like to select as your project mentor
  3. several sentences on your leadership aspirations.

All materials will be considered by a committee of UMSON academic/administrative leaders and a determination will be made promptly given the December 1 deadline for submittal of the full application. Send the requested information to Deborah Prout at prout@umaryland.edu
