Register now for the eighth annual Public Health Research @ Maryland conference exploring how we can apply lessons from 2020 to advance public health and promote equity. It’s free, and you can attend all or part of it.

The event will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13; 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14; and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 15.

It is organized collaboratively each year by the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) School of Public Health and the University of Maryland, School of Medicine's (UMSOM) Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, and sponsored by the University of Maryland Strategic Partnership: MPowering the State.

The opening session features a conversation between University System of Maryland leaders, including UMCP President Darryll J. Pines, University of Maryland, Baltimore President Bruce E. Jarrell, UMSOM Dean E. Albert Reece, USM Chancellor Jay A. Perman and others, moderated by School of Public Health Dean Boris Lushniak and Department of Epidemiology and Public Health Chair Jay Magaziner. It will be focused on their vision for leadership in the context of COVID-19, structural racism, economic challenges, and climate change.

We’re honored to have noted epidemiologist Dr. David Michaels as this year’s keynote speaker. His address is titled, “Science and Policy to Support Healthy People 2030: The Imperative to Rebuild and Reimagine Our Public Health Infrastructure.”

All are invited to submit research for the Public Health Research @ Maryland poster session. Contribute to the conversation on how we can learn from 2020 to advance health and well-being. Submit a poster by March 31 at  go.umd.edu/phrm-poster21
