About the Student Nurse Program: The student nurse program at UM BWMC is a paid, supplemental position that gives you hands-on experience caring for patients of all ages and conditions. As you work towards your nursing degree, you’ll be able to work a flexible schedule at the medical center to complement your learning. Get your foot in the door by joining the program which offers:
- Expand your knowledge of the nursing role while partnering with an experienced nurse delivering patient care
- Opportunities to shadow in different clinical areas
- On-the-job training
To be eligible for the program, you must:
- Be a current nursing student with at least one completed semester
- Have completed a fundamentals class and one clinical shift
- Have CNA certification
- Have BLS certification from the American Heart Association
