The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) announces the following award opportunities and submission deadlines:

ICTR TL1 Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Award

UMB ICTR is pleased to announce the 2020 call for applications for the UMB ICTR/CTSA TL1 Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Awards.

This award is for academic year 2020-2021. The purpose of the TL1 Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Award is to support the training of biomedical, behavioral, and clinical researchers through individual pre-doctoral research training within the schools of dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work, and the Graduate School on the UMB campus.

The TL1 training program is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) program. Funding for this TL1 predoctoral training program is provided through the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) and is a joint CTSA partnership between University of Maryland, Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University.

Duration of TL1 predoctoral program: One year

Submission due date: Jan. 31, 2020, 5 p.m. EST

Start date: July 1, 2020

ICTR TL1 Postdoctoral Clinical Research Training Award

UMB ICTR is pleased to announce the 2020 call for applications for the UMB ICTR/CTSA TL1 Postdoctoral Clinical Research Training Awards.

The purpose of the TL1 Postdoctoral Clinical Research Training Award is to support the training of biomedical, behavioral, and clinical researchers through individual postdoctoral research training within the schools of dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work, and the Graduate School on the UMB campus.

ICTR KL2 Mentored Career Development Award

UMB ICTR is pleased to announce the 2020 call for applications for the UMB ICTR/CTSA KL2 Mentored Career Development Award. The purpose of the KL2 is to provide support for clinical and translational research training and career development of persons in relevant disciplines and professions from the six professional schools on the UMB campus (dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and social work).

The KL2 awardee will receive support for three years. The initial two years, based upon satisfactory progress, is provided by the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research/ Clinical and Translational Science Award (ICTR/CTSA); the final year is provided by the applicant’s home division/department or UMB school.

Submission due date: Feb. 14, 2020, 5 p.m. EST

Start date: July 1, 2020

Information session: Jan. 8, 2020, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., SMC Campus Center, 621 W. Lombard St., Elm Ballroom B
