Bentzen

Dr. Soren Bentzen is presenting “Biostatistics, Why, When, How?” at noon Feb. 9.

Quantitative biomedical research is increasingly a team science, requiring the expertise and skills of collaborators from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Biostatisticians bring to the team a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, and computational methods, augmented by domain-specific knowledge of biomedical science. The talk will discuss why or when a biomedical researcher may want to seek biostatistical collaboration/support for a research project, and how to access the available support offered by the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) as well as other mechanisms.

Soren Bentzen, PhD, DMSc, FASTRO, is professor of epidemiology and public health and professor of radiation oncology, University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM); director, Division of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, UMSOM; director of the Biostatistics Shared Service, University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center; director of the Biostatistics Core, UMB ICTR; and director of Translational Research, UM Proton Therapy Alliance.

Registration is required for this Zoom webinar. Register here.

The event is sponsored by the UMB ICTR.
