Safe Ride van and security officer

The University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) is proud to announce that Safe Ride service will resume Monday, March 1. We have taken extensive precautions to ensure the safety of our entire community, including: protective barriers between driver and passenger; one passenger per ride, or no more than two passengers from the same household; mandatory masking, with drivers wearing N95 respirators; extensive disinfecting between each ride; and more. The program will be continually monitored and evaluated to ensure safe operation. Please be patient — reduced ridership and increased cleaning protocols mean wait times may vary.

Safe Ride will run seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Request a Safe Ride through the Mobile UMB App (learn how here). Don’t have a smartphone? Call 410-706-6882. Discounted rides will continue to be offered 24/7 through Lyft Ride Smart at UMB. Safe Walk service is also available 24/7 on campus by calling 410-706-6882.
