The Pi at-Large Chapter of Sigma at UMSON, the international honor society of nursing, is sponsoring a charity drive to support My Sister’s Place Women’s Center in Baltimore. Please join us at this time of the year, and always in helping this most worthy charity.
Open since 1982, My Sister’s Place Women’s Center is Baltimore City’s longest-serving women’s day shelter and resource center for women and children experiencing homelessness and poverty. We empower those we serve to overcome their situations through our services, which include extensive workshops centered on the 8 realms of wellness: emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, environmental, financial, occupational, and social wellness. More than just a meal program, My Sister’s Place Women’s Center provides a safe haven for women in Baltimore City, a place to receive love and support as they work to overcome their barriers.
Cash donations are the best way to support the women of My Sister’s Place, as they allow us to provide immediate relief.
Gift cards to food stores, Walmart, and Target are also helpful. Here is a wish list of items needed by My Sister’s Place, in priority order, here. My Sisters Place is no longer in need of toiletries, feminine hygiene products, or winter weather items.
