Students at Maryland Carey Law can learn from research librarian Tanya Thomas how to get virtual reference services at the Thurgood Marshall Law Library in our new video, and in this post.

Do any of these questions sound familiar to you?

  • Where can I find the full text of this journal article online?
  • Do we have access to any databases other than Lexis and Westlaw?
  • How do I find the resources I need for my seminar paper?
  • Is this citation properly formatted?

Our professional library staff are here to help you answer these questions and many more. Although we may not be able to meet with you in person right now, our research services are still available to you. There are many ways that you can get research help:

Accessing library resources remotely: Law students may access many of the Law Library's resources remotely, including databasesonline journalsresearch guides, and ebooks. To access our subscription online materials, you may be prompted to enter your UMID and password. The Law Library’s off-campus access guide can help you troubleshoot remote access issues.

Research guides & FAQs: You can also check to see if your question is addressed in our FAQs or our online research guides

Virtual reference help: The library professional staff is available online to answer your library-related questions and for personalized research consultations. If there are resources and services for which you need more information or would like to give your feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We're standing by ready to help you Monday to Friday, 9 a.m to 6 p.m. Just ask us! We look forward to hearing from you.
