Montrece McNeill Ransom, JD, MPH, ACC, discussed the phenomenon of belonging as well as the impact of systemic racism on public health in the United States during her Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) Virtual Speaker Series presentation Nov. 16: “Dying to Belong: Racism, Public Health, and the Law.”
McNeill Ransom, who is a leadership coach, belonging strategist, author, and educator, shared stories both personal and professional on the topics after an introduction by UMB President Bruce E. Jarell, MD, FACS.
She then took a series of questions from members of the online audience before capping the presentation with tips on steps we can take to cultivate cultures of belonging in all of our shared spaces.
