Admin Awards

Jeannie Adkins, Alvette Chase, Latoya Ludd, Saifa Poole, and Stephanie White are recognized for excellence as administrative professionals.


Five employees from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) were honored in August as finalists for the 2022 Admin Awards, which are considered the administrative profession’s highest honor and recognize administrative excellence in nine categories.

Coined the “Academy Awards for Admins,” these awards represent the first and only public recognition program of its kind in the country that focuses specifically on recognizing and rewarding the achievements, dedication, and importance of administrative professionals.

The five finalists from UMB attended the “Good as Gold” Gala on Aug. 26 at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C. A gala is held in each of Admin Awards’ 10 program cities/regions — Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Pacific Northwest, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Washington.

The five UMB finalists were:

  • Jeannie Adkins, office manager, Office of Finance and Resource Management, School of Medicine. Category: Loyalty Award.
  • Alvette Chase, office manager, Office of Philanthropy, UMB. Category: Strategic Partnership Award.
  • Latoya Ludd, MBA, business operations manager, Office of Administration and Finance, UMB. Category: Achiever Award.
  • Saifa Poole, assistant to the senior vice president, Office of External Relations, UMB. Category: Excellence in Public Service Award.
  • Stephanie White, office manager/affairs analyst, School of Nursing. Category: Strategic Partnership Award.
