The program topic was selected by the medical center, reflecting on current issues important to practicing nurses. Both speakers are nationally known for their expertise in workplace violence prevention. More than 70 hospital staff members, NLI fellows, and mentors attended the event, which was held at USG. The goal of the workshop was to understand the value of a holistic workplace violence program and create a collective call to action. Breakout sessions included identifying and applying seven components that should be included in a holistic safety program.
The workshop was supported by the Nurse Leadership Institute through the Nurse Support Program II, which is funded by the Health Services Cost Review Commission and administered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
