The Division of Student Affairs celebrates the success of the Campus Involvement Fair, the culminating event in the annual celebration of Fall Kick-Off.
Every September, the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) Division of Student Affairs welcomes students to a new academic year through Fall Kick-Off, a weeklong celebration of students, the University, and new opportunities. The event lineup traditionally culminates with the Campus Involvement Fair, and 2026 proved to be no exception.
On Friday, Sept. 4, the School of Nursing Lawn was transformed into an energetic hub of all things UMB. Over 50 campus offices, community groups, and student organizations set up tables and activities designed to introduce their unique offerings, complete with plenty of free swag and snacks. The University Student Government Association (USGA) co-funded the event, supplying free boxed lunches to student attendees. Over 425 students were in attendance, not including those present to support an organization’s tabling.
Including the Campus Involvement Fair, the Division of Student Affairs held nine events throughout the week of Fall Kick-Off, which ran from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. Each activity provided an opportunity for students to meet one another while exploring a dimension of the UMB student experience, including community service, wellness, and global opportunities. Fall Kick-Off 2026 may have just ended, but the Division of Student Affairs is already thinking about next year!
