All in democracy Challenge seal

UMB has earned the Highly Established Action Plan Seal from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge and is launching the UMB Votes Civic Engagement Workshop Series.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) has earned the Highly Established Action Plan Seal for the 2026 election cycle from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.

This prestigious recognition celebrates UMB’s nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan, which earned 31.5 out of 36 points on the Strengthening American Democracy Action Planning Rubric. UMB is one of only 129 campuses nationwide to receive this distinction, highlighting its ongoing commitment to institutionalizing and expanding nonpartisan civic engagement as part of its ALL IN Democracy Challenge Action Plan.

In alignment with this achievement, the Office of Student Success, Leadership, and Engagement, in partnership with the Office of Community and Civic Engagement, is excited to announce the full lineup for the UMB Votes Civic Engagement Series.

This hands-on, nonpartisan series of virtual workshops is designed to help participants build real civic power, from understanding who represents them to taking meaningful action on the issues they care about. The workshops provide essential tools, confidence, and knowledge to engage in civic life at every level.

While primarily designed for students, all members of the UMB community, including staff, faculty, and city neighbors, are invited to participate.

Each workshop is:

  • Approximately 45 minutes
  • Virtual and interactive
  • Open to students, staff, faculty, and city neighbors
