Accessible forms and surveys help ensure students and the public can complete submissions independently.

Digital accessibility begins with awareness and action across the UMB community. New federal regulations that take effect in April 2027 require public universities, including UMB, to ensure that their websites, course content, digital documents, and online tools are accessible to the public and students with disabilities to access our programs, services, and activities. We will be sharing information and tips in “The Elm Weekly.”

Forms and surveys are widely used across campus for registration, feedback, and data collection. Accessible forms help ensure students and the public can complete submissions independently, including individuals using screen readers or keyboard navigation.

Use clear labels, logical tab order, accessible error messages, and descriptive instructions. Required fields should be identified with more than color alone. Accessible design supports broader engagement and reduces barriers to participation.

Review forms and surveys for accessibility before distribution.
