Students who need reasonable accommodations or support services can work with UMB’s Office of Educational Support and Disability Services.

Digital accessibility begins with awareness and action across the UMB community. New federal regulations that take effect in April 2027 require public universities, including UMB, to ensure that their websites, course content, digital documents, and online tools are accessible to the public and students with disabilities to access our programs, services, and activities. We will be sharing information and tips in “The Elm Weekly.”

Students who need reasonable accommodations or support services can work with UMB’s Office of Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS). The process includes five steps, from completing the accommodation form and submitting documentation to meeting with ESDS, connecting with instructors, and revisiting accommodations as needed.

Starting the process early can help students receive the support they need throughout the semester.
