B’more for Healthy Babies (BHB) closed 2025 with Spa Night for mothers/caregivers and a Father’s Harvest Dinner, offering healing, affirmation, and celebration of fathers’ roles, ending the year in gratitude, renewal, and collective strength.
The BHB team at the Center for Restorative Change, University of Maryland School of Social Work, closed out 2025 with two powerful community gatherings centered on healing, affirmation, and connection.
The annual B’more for Healthy Babies Spa Night invited moms and caregivers into an evening themed “Reset, Rebirth, Realign,” offering a much-needed space to rest, restore, and reconnect with themselves and one another. Participants enjoyed massage, yoga and stretching, journaling, coloring paired with breath work, aromatherapy sachet-making, and a “rest is resistance” affirmation circle, all supported by food and on-site childcare so caregivers could truly relax and exhale.
Complementing this focus on maternal and caregiver wellness, BHB also hosted its annual Father’s Harvest Dinner at the Justice Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center. Coordinated and facilitated by Community Health Worker Celestine Tolliver, a leader in BHB’s father engagement work, the gathering brought together three generations of fathers, teens, and caregivers to celebrate and affirm fathers, bonus dads, and grandfathers for their critical roles in families and across the community.
Five community-based, father-led programs partnered in the event, with leaders sharing powerful testimonials about their journeys as fathers and community change agents. Throughout the evening, attendees networked, highlighted their businesses, and played chess, culminating in a celebration of the second anniversary of Deon Jones’ Uncommon Dialogue male engagement group and the launch of his new book — ending the year with a spirit of gratitude, renewal, and collective strength.
