The UMB Student Pantry is committed to helping students access nutritious food while they are balancing busy academic schedules. Through partnerships with organizations such as the Maryland Food Bank, the pantry provides a variety of staple items that students can use to prepare simple, healthy meals.

Many students might not realize that common pantry items can easily be combined to create balanced meals. With a little creativity, food available at the UMB Student Pantry can support healthy eating habits while saving time and money.

Pantry Foods That Support Healthy Meals

The Student Pantry regularly provides items such as canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, whole wheat pasta, spaghetti sauce, granola bars, popcorn, bottled water, and mashed potatoes. These foods can be used in different combinations to help students build meals that include whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

These staples are especially helpful for students who might have limited cooking equipment or limited time between classes.
