Food retailer and catering partner since February 2024 was well regarded at UMB for its customer service and menu offerings. “They will be deeply missed.”

July 2, 2026, marked a bittersweet goodbye for the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) dining scene as food retailer and catering partner Yes Chef! closed its storefront at the SMC Campus Center.

Built upon a foundation of shared values and community collaboration, the local, woman-owned business opened its UMB location in February 2024 and became known for its reliable, pleasant customer service and quality-focused menu offerings.

“I want to thank the owners of Yes Chef!, Jodi and Clint Roze, for everything they poured into serving the Campus Center and the broader UMB community,” said Bill Crockett, MS, RCRSP, assistant vice president of student affairs. “The Yes Chef! team was never just our food service vendor. They were truly part of the UMB family. We’re grateful for their dedication, their warmth, and the countless meals that fueled our students, faculty, and staff. They will be deeply missed.”

Yes Chef! has reached out to anyone with catering orders for events taking place after July 2. Event planners can contact Event Services within the Division of Student Affairs to coordinate high-quality catering offerings for events at the Campus Center.
